Palpation based acupuncture: Kiiko Matsumoto method
Our practitioners’ gentle acupuncture methods come from Kiiko Matsumoto’s style, a palpation based acupuncture. Channels and other reflex zones in the hara (our torso energy center) are palpated to find areas of pain, stagnation, and sensitivity. After a combination of points are chosen for treatment, these reflection zones become less painful and inflamed. This allows both the patient and the acupuncturist to have immediate feedback on how well the treatment is working right then on the table. This hands-on approach for diagnosing and treating not only works well for nervous system and musculoskeletal conditions, but also internal medicine issues such as adrenal fatigue, autoimmune conditions, and systemic inflammatory concerns. This acupuncture style allows for a truly holistic diagnosis also taking into consideration how emotions and stress are impacting your physical body.
